Music
From least to most recent
I come from a somewhat musical family. Despite not being very public with it (I hate performances and sharing), I have been practicing music in some form since my first piano lessons.
Here you will find my brief explorations in creating the art of music.
Almost every song here was made with Apple’s Garageband.
Jacob’s NautiluS Music
My first album, if you can call it that, is “Jacob’s NautiluS Music.” As you may see by the capitalization, this was probably the first time I had played with the idea of “NautiluStudios” as a name.
I don’t like this music, and frankly it’s kind of embarrassing to have it up here in public.

Dragon’s On T.V.
“Dragons On T.V.” is what I produced after acquiring a whole load of new instruments and loops on Garageband that got installed when you downloaded another one of Apple’s music apps. That meant a ton of new orchestral instruments to work with. Now most everything was made using loops, so I don’t think any of the orchestral sounding pieces in this album are considered ‘original.’

My Second 'Album'2013
101314
“101314”, named so for the 10 songs (originally), then 13 songs, created in 2013 and 2014, is the time in which I got more creative with using loops, such as by changing their instruments and tones. There is even a seque from the first song to the second, which I think was a bold move. Some songs here were made with the iOS version of Garageband since I had first bought an iPad. Interestingly, this means the album also coincides with my beginnings into writing, which I also did almost entirely on my iPad.
Still, I lacked a talent for music whatsoever.

Game Soundtrack and Other Projects
Starting in 2015, soon after I built my first computer, I starting trying to learn programming. It didn’t go well until I was able to find a Java 2D Game tutorial that, though advanced, started from scratch which was helpful for me in learning how exactly coding working and how changing your code will effect how it works. Annoyed by the silence of my game, I made some music to go along with it. Also annoyingly to me now, some of these songs are not original: they are ‘chiptune’ covers. The only one I actually like here is track 5. Remixing Toccata and Fugue in Dm into some sort of battle music was probably the most fun I had ever had in making music up to that point. I still look back now (February 2020) quite fondly.
As for the rest?
Ehh, they’re not that great.

Stuff I used for an old game2015-2016
“Flight Of The Takara” is a piece inspired by Anders Enger Jensen. It’s one of my better works, but you will notice that, yes, I am still lacking a lot of musical talent.
It was made entirely on Garageband for iOS, which is where I do my music nowadays. It is currently incomplete, but I used this piece in this state to test the ability to record it from my computer to a cassette, then record it on my computer from a cassette player. The second track uses an Audacity plugin to simulate cassette degradation. The ones following are recorded right from cassettes, played from a Sony Walkman. Notice how it is slightly faster than the digital version, with a higher pitch and sometimes weaker audio at points of high volume. It’s not pretty, but it’s neat that I have a way to create these kinds of effects on physical media.
